I wanted to watch the show for the first time. I know there are two adaptions. I wanted to know if I could watch the 99 series and continue with the…
The 1999 edition had an additional mission in the hunter arc with the ship and storm. Although it isn’t that missed in the 2011 edition, this mini phase had some great character development. Other than that, many one-off scenes were included in the 1999 edition that wasn’t in the 2011 edition. Stylistically the two shows were vastly different.

Same Mangaka! 2011 adapts 3 more arcs than 1999, so it covers more of the source material. Also, the tone of 1999 is darker compared to 2011 more light hearted tone. The tone of 1999 is darker than that of 2011. And by that I mean the color palette, the drawing, the character design, etc.
As such, it didn't take him long to make his debut at all. In the Hunter x Hunter manga, Netero made his debut in Chapter 12. In the 1999 version of the Hunter x Hunter anime, Netero appeared in Episode 10 to show what his character was all about. In the 2011 version of the anime, Netero made his appearance rather early, in Episode 6.

Killua Zoldyck. 12 incarnations Hisoka. 11 incarnations Gon Freecss. 13 incarnations Kurapika. 11 incarnations Leorio Paladiknight. 9 incarnations Meruem. 2 incarnations Chrollo Lucilfer. 5 incarnations Illumi Zoldyck. 5 incarnations Kite.

The 1999 anime adaptation all share the same look, tone and feel as the Yu Yu Hakusho anime adaptation as well the Pilot OVA episode of Hunter x Hunter that was made by Pierrot. The 1999 adaptation's art style and character design is clearly closer to how Togashi drawn it in the manga than in the 2011 adaptation.

The 1999 version shows Kurapika with rage burning constantly in his eyes, but the 2011 version seems to show him at a point where he’s become numb to the feelings he has in the presence of his clans disembodied eyes, only for the mobster to show up and give him something to focus his anger at.

The 1999 version of Hunter x Hunter is an underrated gem. I find the eyes in 2011 too big after watching 1999. Also 2011 butchered Killua earlier design, he looks Leorio in the 1999 anime is so much better than the 2011 version. Yeah. I liked the way how 99 handle Leorio. He’s included in extra scenes, backstory is a bit more focused, and less of a butt monkey as he was in the 2011. I liked how he was added in this scene where Kurapika, Gon, and Killua meet up at the park. When it comes to Hunter x Hunter, many fans would agree that the 2011 reboot is a fantastic adaptation of the manga. Some even say it's superior to the original 1999 anime. From plot holes to fillers, there are many differences between the 1999 and 2011 versions. But the most apparent is the character designs. Hunter x Hunter is one of my favorite storylines of all time. When I watched the 1999 version, I fell in love with it almost immediately, so perhaps I'm biased here, but the 2011 version isn't giving the same drama, humor, and theme openings / endings as the 1999 that drew me in initially.
Maha Zoldyck (マハ゠ゾルディック, Maha Zorudikku)* is the oldest living member of the Zoldyck Family and Zeno's grandfather. Maha's body has probably deteriorated considerably due to his old age. He stands at 140 centimeters* (about 4 ft 7 in), ten centimeters shorter than Kalluto. Almost nothing is known about Maha. He was later mentioned by Zeno as having once fought Netero. Maha is
